Kemuel Wong

Assistant Conductor

Kemuel Wong holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting and a Bachelor of Music in General Studies: Secondary Education from the University of British Columbia School of Music. He studied conducting from Bruce Dunn, John van Deursen, Wayne Toews, the late professor Morihiro Okabe, Kenneth Hsieh, Bruce Pullan, and Dr. Graeme Langager. Kemuel plays the piano, violin, and Guzheng, the Chinese zither. He has conducted ensembles such as the UBC Women’s Choir, UBC Chamber Choir, Choral Union, University Singers, Gilbert and Sullivan Society of UBC, North Shore Light Opera Society, and the Folsom Singers. Kemuel is experienced in arts production, holding the post of Production Manager with the Vancouver International Song Institute and Festival. He is an Artist-in-Residence at St. Patrick’s Regional Secondary School, leading sectional rehearsals with the Concert Choir since February 2011. Kemuel was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra in September 2010, and the Vancouver Bach Choir in September 2011.
