Kenneth Friedman

Artistic Advisor

Born in Los Angeles, Kenneth Friedman studied with Gary Karr, Herman Reinshagen and Fredrich Zimmerman. He received his B.Mus.”cum laude” from the University of Southern California and a M.S. in double bass from The Juilliard School. Formerly a member of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, he has been Principal Double Bass of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra from 1973 to 2009. Mr. Friedman has been a guest lecturer at the University of Washington, Juilliard, the New England Conservatory and the Banff School of Fine Arts. He has participated in the Music at Shawnigan and Olympic Music Festivals and is on the faculty at the University of British Columbia.
