VMO 6th Annual Free Outdoor Concert

The Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra is pleased to announce its 6th Annual Free Outdoor Concert at the beautiful setting of Jack Poole Plaza (Burrard Landing). PCI Developments and Ledcor Group have continued to generously sponsor this free outdoor concert. The Concert will take place starting at 7pm and end just shortly after the 9pm (we will hear the 9pm Shotgun from Stanley Park!) Seating is First come First Serve, and we encourage everyone to bring a Blanket or low Lawn Chair for comfort.

Maestro Ken Hsieh will lead and host this concert, showcasing our fine young professional musicians, as well as solos by a brilliant upcoming soprano (TBA) and Mr. Akira Nagai, who has just recently retired as Concertmaster Emeritus from the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Maestro Hsieh and the VMO have selected a fun and festive dance theme for this concert this year. Several great pieces to look forward to, including: Rossini: Barber of Seville Overture, Brahms: Hungarian Dances, Borodin: Polotvsian Dances, Dvorak: Slavonic Dance, Ravel: Alborada del Gracioso, Bizet: L’arlesienne, Joe Hisaishi’s Town with a View, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, only to name a few!

We look forward to seeing everyone there at this concert!
