Qiao Wang

Piano

Qiao Wang was born in Hai Nan, China. At the age of seven she commenced her piano studies with Professor Yuan Ling at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Qiao Wang gave her first recital with Ms. Zhou in the Beijing Concert Hall at the age of nine.

She has been a frequent award winner in national competitions. In 1997, she won the gold prize in the HongKong International Piano Open Competition, and first prize in The Hai Nan Music Festival. In 2007, she was selected as one of the top ten students in her age category in Beijing, and in the following year she commenced her studies with Professor Lee Kum-Sing at the Vancouver Academy of Music. She continues to be a scholarship student and award winning performer at numerous piano competitions in China, Italy and Vancouver, BC. Qiao Wang will graduate in June 2012 with a Bachelor of Music Degree from the Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning in collaboration with the Vancouver Academy of Music.
