Shannon Chan-Kent

Soprano

Shannon Chan-Kent has just completed her Masters of Opera at UBC, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Opera as well. Shannon has been singing since the tender age of 6 and now studies under the instruction of Nancy Hermiston. Shannon is so grateful to have had so many wonderful opportunities with the UBC Opera Ensemble. Some of her operatic credits include Queen of the Night in Die Zauberfloete, Madame Herz in Der Schauspieldirektor, the doll Olympia in The Tales of Hoffman, the Dewfairy in Hansel and Gretel, Adele in Die Fledermaus, First Spirit in Die Zauberflote and Fiametta in The Gondoliers. Shannon has also been so fortunate to have performed the role of Piper in the new children’s opera Jack Pine for the Vancouver Opera School Tours. Shannon is also in the film/television and voiceover industry in Vancouver. Some of her voiceover credits include Larmina in Voltron, Pinky Pie in My Little Ponies, Tiffany in Sabrina the teenage witch, Chloe in My Fair Madeline and Madeline in Tahiti, Betsy Bubblegum in Yummyland, various barbies in Holiday Barbie and Kelly’s Dream Club 1& 2, series regular on Martha Speaks and Class of the Titans, Grace Lum in Being Ian, Tweazle in Carebears, Ching in Pucca, Misa Amane in Deathnote and Disney’s newest and highly anticipated animated series Sluggterrainia . Some of her film and television credits include Samurai Girl, Dragon Boys, Go!, Nickolodean’s action series The Troop, Nickolodean’s movie musical Spectacular! And the CW network’s hit new series Life Unexpected.
