The VMO closes its 18th season with a celebration of Dvorak’s work. As we live in a new world due to the COVID 19 aftermath, we can bring ourselves back into time to imagine what Dvorak’s journey to the New World “America,” where he was offered a teaching position at the Conservatory in New York. The VMO brings in Vancouver Academy Orchestra’s executive director, Joseph Elworthy, a graduate of Yale University under the fame Aldo Parisot. The Orchestra opens with a new commission by composer-in-residence, Aiden Mulldoon Wong.

– Dvorak: Concerto, Violoncello, Op. 104, B-Minor

– Dvorak: Symphony No. 9, Op. 95, E-Minor (From the New World)
